About URS Auckland

The largest of URS New Zealand’s four offices, Auckland is also URS New Zealand’s ‘corporate’ home. URS Auckland is involved in a wide range of engineering design and environmental management projects and is consistently winning large multi-discipline projects of national significance. It’s not all work and no play, with an active social club and regular team morning teas and BBQ lunches, staff have a range of opportunities to get together outside of the office if they choose.

With a population of just over 1.2 million people, or a quarter of New Zealand’s population, Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city by far. Considered to be the centre of commerce and industry, Auckland is also a cultural melting pot with strong Polynesian, Asian and indigenous Maori heritage and influences. Our most vibrant, bustling and multicultural city, Auckland is also blessed with a temperate climate, cosmopolitan lifestyle and access to a wide variety of activities.

Auckland is surrounded by water, which has led the city to have more boats per capita than anywhere else in the world, earning it the nickname of “City of Sails”. As well as countless bays and sandy urban beaches, Auckland is also made up of a number of dormant volcanoes and outlying islands which provide Aucklanders fabulous vantage points and get away spots. Whether it is tropical rain forests, black sand beaches and wild surf or calm bays and golden sand beaches, Auckland provides it all within a one hour drive in any direction.
