About URS Wellington

Nestled between hills and a harbour, Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand. Home to the government, Wellington is also considered to be the cultural capital of the country boasting world class entertainment, museums, art galleries, cafés, bars, restaurants and microbreweries.

Due to the Wellington office location, our teams service a number of government clients and we are at the forefront of integrating sustainability across the URS New Zealand business groups. Being the movie capital of New Zealand also affords Wellington some exciting opportunities, as our Mechanical and Electrical team found out when they won a contract with Peter Jackson’s (Lord of the Rings) Weta Workshops.

Compact in size but not in nature, there is truly something for everyone in Wellington and usually within a stone’s throw of one another. Wellington has a temperate climate and for those keen on outdoor pursuits, it offers mountains to the north, hills and beaches within its local confines and easy access to the more extreme landscape and outdoor activities of the South Island, just across the Cook Straight.
